Menasa Caribbean music producer extraordinaire, has been involved with music since his teenage years and originally went by the name DJ Menace but when he noticed how people around him pronounced it, the name eventually evolved to ‘Menasa’. If you live on the ABC-islands than it is very likely that you have heard of him.
Starting off his career with the supergroup Immo- rales, he quickly branched out on his own and has produced hits for just about every big name in the Urban music scene of the Dutch Caribbean, and even some artists beyond this arena. Among the many bootleg hits he has produced are his original mixes “Ta Malo” and the international sensation “Bala” with Tony Montana Music; the accompanying video clip reached twenty four million views on You- Tube, a colossal feat considering it was made by Curaçaoan artists on location in Curaçao, an island with a population of roughly one hundred and fifty thousand.
But this is just the beginning for this Curaçao native as he is emerging from the background and stepping to the fore- front with his productions, poised to become the Caribbe- an’s answer to Diplo and Major Lazer with his hypnotic blend of Electro dance music immersed in Moombahton. Menasa is the only local DJ who has performed twice at Europe’s biggest dance festival: Tomorrowland. Menasa has worked with various artists, including Yellow Claw, Dj Moortje, Yung Felix, The Party Squad, Ghetto Flow, Freddy Morreira, Cesqeaux and recently Saga White Black (Producer of Nicky Jam). Currently Menasa is working with several Colom- bian artists like Dj Dever, Martina La Peligrosa, El Bomby and Dennis Fernando. Menasa is very active in Cartagena, Medel- lin and Barranquilla.
